The inspiration for the Armstrong Heritage Farm came many years ago when Grant Armstrong, donated 50 acres of land to the Municipality of Shawville. Mr. Armstrong is a direct descendant of Samuel Armstrong - the first brickmaker in Shawville. 'The Farm' is a living history museum dipicting life in Pontiac County circa 1890-1920.
Come visit and see everyday working life i.e. farming, blacksmithing, baking. Hop on the train and take a trip back in time.
In the 2002 a small group of interested citizens joined together to form the steering committee. April 2003 the 'Founding Meeting' was held.
Besides the fundraising events happening at the 'Farm' during the upcoming spring and summer
crews will be busy moving buildings onto the site. Some will be moved by float while some will have to be completely dismantled
and reconstructed on site. This will take a considerable amount of time and energy.
